DAVE CHRISTENSEN began his career in the construction industry in 1955, building everything from homes and apartments to hotels and parking structures throughout the Pacific Northwest.

After retiring in 1982, Dave decided he wanted a yacht. He searched all over the U.S. and did not find a single builder who was up to his standards. So he did the next logical thing...he set out to build one himself.

Dave partnered with Westport Shipyards. They made the hulls and Christensen did the finish work. Before he finished his first yachts, he had orders for two more.

In July of 1985, Christensen was incorporated to build luxury yachts and by 1986 Christensen Shipyards had its own facility and mold to build hulls.

After 25 years at the helm, Dave retired in 2009. However, he continues to watch the company carry on the tradition of building quality, customized yachts with the superior craftsmanship for which Christensen is known for.
